Julia's Singing Teaching

London is a great place to be a singer and an exciting place to be a singing teacher, too! In our singing lessons, I enable students to develop a strong, reliable and healthy singing technique that will last for life. I love helping my students discover their own unique voice. I specialise in classical singing and musical theatre (Estill),  but I will also work with other genres that promote healthy voice use.

London singing lessons are available in person and online at my studio in Leytonstone — very convenient for singers from Walthamstow, Wanstead, Stratford, and Bow and within easy access of the Elizabeth Line or Central Line.

Students of all ages are welcome from 14 upwards. I am a fully qualified teacher with four decades of teaching experience, 27 of those as a specialist singing teacher. I help students on their way to careers in opera, professional choral singing, and musical theatre. I have been instrumental in getting students onto conservatoire and vocational college courses in singing performance and musical theatre. I have helped many students gain choral scholarships to Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, York and King’s College, London, and one former student was an X Factor finalist!  Many more enjoy their singing for pleasure.

2024: It is with deep sadness that I write that my lovely former student, Ben Thapa, opera singer, former G4 member, died suddenly on 8th September 2024. He will be sorely missed as a friend, as well as a  very talented singer, arranger and conductor. Rest in peace and rise in glory, Ben.
