Professional Presentation Coaching - Making an Impact

Many of us these days have to give presentations or speak in public on occasions as part of our work. This comes easily to some, but for many, it is an ordeal. Sometimes we find it hard to put over our message with the impact that it deserves. It can be challenging to muster up the same confidence in front of an audience that we have when sharing our inspiration and ideas with close colleagues. Does this sound familiar? As an experienced vocal and performance coach, I can help you learn the skills you need to share your clarity of vision with others and become a confident, clear presenter. I’ve been successfully training performers for more than 30 years.  I deal with all aspects of presenting to help my clients make an 'impact'.     How will you know if I'm the right coach for you?
    It all starts with an initial telephone call . We’ll talk about your particular needs and concerns about presenting, and if you like what you hear and feel comfortable, we’ll book a one-off consultation session. In this Consultation hour, I’ll watch you give a short presentation, and together we’ll identify the areas that need attention. I’ll clearly outline a programme of work that will meet your particular needs, and set you on the first steps of your journey in this. I’ll structure our subsequent sessions to deal with each of these areas. Our training will be tailored specifically to your needs. I like working this way with an initial consultation session, as it gives us both the chance to see if we work well together before you commit to a series of sessions.

    What does professional presentation coaching involve?
    For most sessions, you’ll bring along a short extract of a presentation to deliver to me as your audience (it could be your elevator pitch) and this will form the focus of our skills work.  Week by week, I’ll help you build your own warm up routine, tailored to your voice’s particular needs. We will work with your breath management, and I’ll show you how to develop and train your ‘support’ muscles to strengthen your voice for projection. We’ll explore your feelings about giving presentations, and if needed, develop new ways of thinking about it. Between sessions, there will be exercises to practise, and specific ‘homework’ tasks, tailored to your needs.

    Mine is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach. I work with and for the individual. Together we identify what is working, and what is not. Clarity is key. I aim to give each of my clients a clear appreciation of their presentation strengths, and the specific skills they need to address their challenges. I won’t just tell you what skills you need – I will train you in those skills.
